Roshan's Childhood

Roshan Ranawana was born on March 23rd, in Ratmalana, Sri Lanka. The eldest son of Kanthi Ranawana & Tony Massillamany, Roshan was loved and cherished by his uncles as a child.

His first insights to cinema started at the age of two when he was gifted with a film projector. He gained vital insights to perform his first stage drama in Kindergarten at the age of four by watching cartoons like “woody wood pecker”, children’s movies and wild life documentaries.

As a child, he was enthralled with sophisticated toys. He had dedicated cupboard to have this extensive collection of toys. This cupboard has since been converted to his very own fashion wardrobe.

At the age of five, Roshan was blessed with a younger brother – Chanaka Massillamany. Chanaka and Roshan enjoyed a memorable and an eventful childhood growing up together with their “gang” of neighborhood friends.

One of his most unforgettable memories during this time was how he believed in Santa Clause, from writing letters to being in the best books with his parents during the season.
